Spend the day exploring Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, and even stop for an iconic postcard view of Table Mountain from Bloubergstrand. This day tour to the Cape Winelands – which includes a wine and cheese tasting and a cellar tour in Franschhoek as well as a wine tasting at a Stellenbosch wine farm – is a must-do for visitors and locals alike.
The Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Winelands Tour leaves Cape Town in the morning and takes a scenic drive to Bloubergstrand, for an iconic photo opportunity of the ocean and Table Mountain.
After visiting Blouberg, you will be treated to a cheese and wine tasting and cellar tour at the majestic Backsberg wine farm. The next stop is Franschhoek, where guests will have about two hours to explore the town, enjoy lunch or indulge in an extra wine tasting. Then we will take a scenic drive over the impressive Helshoogte Pass to the picturesque town of Stellenbosch where our guests will be treated to the iconic duck parade (time permitting). Afterwards, enjoy a wine tasting before heading back to Cape Town.
Your guide will highlight points of interest along the way (in English) and will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the route or wine farms.
Bloubergstrand offers visitors one of the best views of Table Mountain in the Cape. Walk along the beautiful beach … and don’t forget to snap a few pictures of the world-famous view!
The Franschhoek valley is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful places to visit in South Africa. With towering mountains and vineyards, Franschhoek offers stunning views from its famous wine farms. Franschhoek, meaning “French corner”, truly lives up to its name, with French-inspired cafes, delis and wine shops, and architecture dating back to the time of the Huguenots.
Guests will have about two hours to explore the picturesque town, so be sure to stop for lunch at a cafe, do some shopping or even indulge in an optional wine tasting.
Stellenbosch is on one of the most popular wine routes in South Africa. The town, also known as the “City of Oaks”, has giant oak trees shading the streets, which are lined with picturesque cafes, boutiques and art galleries. The Cape Dutch architecture dates back to South Africa’s Dutch colonial history.
After a scenic drive over Helshoogte Pass, we will take a leisurely drive through the town before stopping to enjoy the iconic duck parade of nearly 1000 Runner Ducks and enjoying the final wine tasting & cellar tour of the day at this Stellenbosch wine farm.
